Lisbon Travel Guide
Including restaurant and sightseeing recommendations, 2 complete itineraries (with recs for Lisbon/Cascais/Sintra/Belém), and more!
Portugal is literally one of my FAVORITE countries in the entire world - I went for the first time when I was quite young (I believe it was in 2008) and then again in early 2020. I went again to Lisbon with my husband in 2023 and this summer as well.
Every time I’m there, I eat AMAZING food, see beautiful spots and overall, have a BLAST. I am so excited to share my recs with you guys!
This guide will include:
Tips for flight/where to stay
Brunch/breakfast recs
Lunch/dinner recs
Wellness/self care recs
Itinerary 1 (5-6 days): Lisbon, Cascais & Sintra
Itinerary 2 (2 days): More local/wellness vibes
FLIGHT BASICS:
This time around I took a round-trip flight from TAP from NYC to Lisbon. I paid a little extra to sit in the green section of the airplane, which makes a big difference because you get a more comfy seat with extra leg room, are closer to the exit so boarding/leaving is faster. A checked bag was $90 though!
Last time I did a stop in Ponta Delgada (The Azores) using Azores Airlines for a more affordable option. It was an overnight flight — the first half of the trip (NYC —> Azores) was ~5-6 hours, and then the flight from Ponta Delgada to Lisbon was 2 hours or so (I did check a bag though, and they charged $120 for it lol).
